The Facilitators

Derrick is the founder of MDMURT and has a deep passion for helping men heal in their marriages. He has been married to Sonya for 22 years and they have four children and two grandchildren. They reside in Hoschton, Georgia. 


He holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Counseling. Derrick and Sonya are Marriage and Family Counselors with a private practice called "The Marriage Menders." 


He has facilitated men's retreats, marriage retreats and group sessions for men for the past 20 years. His transparency of his personal life has allowed men to connect with him who have had similar experiences. His past experiences of childhood abuse, working undercover for the DEA , pornography addiction for 18 years has allowed him to see his journey as a man and share it with other men. 


His style of facilitation is teaching, transparency and creating change.

Tony has a passion for married life and believes that Men play a key role in the health and success of their marriages. 


As a two time divorcee, he knows all too well how easily a marriage can fall apart; yet he holds on to the belief that “Divorce is not an Option.”  He has served as a Captain in the U. S Air Force and holds both a Bachelors in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Masters in Systems Management from The University of Southern California. 


Tony and his wife Paula have been married for 5 years and have a blended family, living with their teenage Son, Colby.  The three of them currently reside in McDonough, Georgia.  Tony also has three grown children from his previous marriages and is the proud Grandfather of three Granddaughters.

Pastor Cory R. Rowe is married to Julie for 28-years and they have four children and two grandchildren. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Pastor Cory is a graduate of Oakwood (College) University and has Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary.

He has 28-years of pastoral ministry and chaplaincy. He was a pastor in Northeastern & Allegheny West Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. Currently, he is a professor at Oakwood University School of Religion where he is the Pastoral Care and Pre-Chaplaincy, Coordinator.

Pastor Cory is passionate about ministry for men and he is the Secretary of Man Down Man Up Real Talk (MDMURT). He declares that “An isolated man is a dangerous man. He is a danger to himself and those around him.” And because of this fact, God ordained MDMURT to hold husbands responsible and accountable, so they can “…Be equipped to be the husbands God intended them to be.”
